I have lived in Austin, Texas with my family (see right) since 2004, working in-house and also as a freelance / contract graphic designer on the following types of projects:

brochures
catalogs
stationery
business cards

websites
flash design
logos
newsletters

I could rehash the typical stats of where I went to school and who I've worked with, but what fun is that? Here's my resume if you're interested.

On the side I run a website and blog called Move to Austin, where I write about the greatest city in the world. Even though it's a hobby to me, I seem to have fooled people into believing I am knowledgeable on the subject matter, including a reporter from the Wall Street Journal.

Other random facts about me include making the Best Of Craigslist Hall of Fame when I sold an old vintage Schwinn bike back in 2005. I am also on the roller derby rec league, and I go by the name Whiskey Sour.

I was also instrumental in getting Rob Lowe a Golden Globe Nomination for his work on a West Wing episode called Galileo (though his thank you note must have gotten lost in the mail).

Please email me with pricing questions. It's helpful to know the size and scope of the project before I give an estimate.

If you decide you'd like to talk to me about a project, I'll suggest that we meet at a coffeeshop to go over what you're looking for and design samples that catch your eye. It helps if you can clip out magazine layouts or business card samples that you like to give me a visual reference, but I'll also lug in my design books to help out. We'll talk about who your target audience is, what mood you are going for, what your budget is, et cetera, and hopefully I'll get an overall feeling of what you are looking for.

After I get started I'll show you some initial first ideas that are roughly designed, and ask you to narrow it down to one idea.  After that, it's usually just polishing it up to your standards, plus (if you are doing a website or brochure) getting all your content and putting it in the finished design.
